We Are Servant-Missionaries

As followers of Jesus, this mission is more than just what we do, it’s who we are. Jesus’s mission shaped his identity. His very name, Jesus, means “one who will save his people from their sins.” So, as His disciples, we are servant missionaries. This means that we must understand that the purpose of our entire lives is to represent Christ to all by serving Him.

As Jesus was sent by the Father to accomplish the redemption and renewal of God’s world by sacrificially serving others, we have been sent by Jesus into the world to faithfully bear witness to Him by serving others in His name. “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” As Jesus’s entire life was surrendered to this calling, so our lives are to be fully surrendered to it as well.
